I made a separate blog for the daily short fiction I've been doing. Just thought it would be better if I could put my actual name on it.

Jeez am I tired. Thursdays are booked solid this quarter. I start at 8:30 am and end between 8 and 9 pm depending on how long the movie in my John carpenter class is. Whew! Admittedly it's happy-I-accomplished-things-today exhaustion.

Anyway: Here's Today's Piece 'o Fiction )

Here, Have a Fiction Writing Excercise.

I'm going to try to write at least 50 words of fiction a day from now on. To keep myself honest I'm putting it in this journal. The results probably won't be cohesive but the skills they need-a sharpenin'. Feel free to comment or not as you wish.

Here's the first one. )

For me personally or for anyone ever?

Personally I'd go mad with anything involving both a high level of data correlation and the involvment of more than three other people. I prefer just doing things on my own in the manner which is most effective. Some collaboration is fine and joyful but after three other people there's just too much coordination nessesary.

For anyone ever: Probably a poet. Poetry is the single most difficult thing to make. It requires an excellent ear for cadence, an intimate knowledge of language, a knowledge of conventions and styles and the ability to be in touch with exactly what you need to say as opposed to what you want to say. The pay mostly sucks. Most Literary criticism currently is stacked against new poets, staffed as it is with people who just wet themselves over Marxist theory. A large percentage of poets are alcoholics. The worst thing: a true poet has to be a poet. Perhaps they are additional things like butcher, baker, professor etc... but they have to make these absurdly beautiful and tragic little pieces of verse and then tinker until it feels perfect and then they have to start the whole agonizing process over again.

Glory! And Dollhouse Talk

good day, kaylee
Because I was in both a quiz and Joss Whedon mood:

Your result for The 4-Variable Buffy Personality Test...

Glorificus

You probably have a complicated, multi-faceted personality. Kind of like Glory-Ben-Glorificus.

Passionate and driven with a spiritual side that comes out at times, a healthy taste for the finer things in life and a willingness to do what's necessary to achieve your ends. You're assertive and have no problems standing up for yourself.
And, push come to shove, you're the closest anyone's ever come to straight-up beating the Slayer and her gang.

Congratulations!

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback! Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in the following:

Who (or what) is your favorite fictional robot?

Bender from "Futurama" because there are very few knowingly immoral robots out there. K9 from "Doctor Who" is also a fave.

1. Pick 10 of your favourite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. No Googling/using IMDb search functions.
